Rose Hannaford’s travels to Lake Eyre, the Kimberley Region and Central Australia have exposed her to an inspiring world of red dust, spinifex, sand hills and vast vistas.
The huge skies, broad bodies of water and endless horizons grasp her imagination in ways that demand recording; an urge that she also experiences when taking in the vegetation and native birds surrounding her Adelaide Hills home. Her recent paintings are formed when she is overcome with a need to translate the natural world she is experiencing when the colours are intense, the vegetation and inhabitants surprising and personal response rejuvenating.
