BUKATILA STUDIO

Hahndorf Academy is building a new community space for creative workshops and cultural events. We’ve almost finished construction but we need your support for the final building works and furnishings to open the Bukatilla Studio to the public!

You can connect people to the arts and give them a sense of belonging in a space that you helped create!

Our vision for the Bukatilla Studio is a welcoming place for people to learn new skills and engage with community. It’s a flexible activity space to fulfil community demand for art workshops and cultural events. We want a creative vibe that is fun and inviting to everyone.

So far we’ve substantially completed construction including utility connections thanks to support from the Hahndorf District Lions and International Lions, Ed Douglas, Stronger Communities program and architect Lothar Brasse. But we still need to install windows, walls, fixtures, and furnishings before we can use the new space.

We’re seeking tax deductible donations from people who are passionate about supporting the local community and South Australian artists. We’re on the home stretch - help us cross the finish line!

SO FAR!!!!!

Bukatilla Studio is a substantial investment in our growth as a not-for-profit cultural centre in regional South Australia. With over 150,000 visitors each year, we want to expand our public program to employ more artists and engage more participants in workshops and events. We’ve had great success delivering school holiday, festivals and wellness programs, as well as workshops for school-aged children, First Nations and vulnerable groups across our region. Now we want to expand our services with more creative workshops, regular courses, community celebrations, as well as private events. We plan new, inclusive activities in partnership with youth, mental health, disability support and aged care services.

Donations will be used to install windows, walls, fixtures and furnishings, including labour and materials. Your help will result in the permanent expansion of our 166 year old heritage building with an activity space that will serve our community into the future! You can find out more on our website
