Floribunda - Drawings by Judy Morris

Judy Morris interprets the world around her using a slow process of mark making with graphite and coloured pencil on paper. She is particularly inspired by the environment in her garden, watching the emergence and eventual turnover of native and introduced plants and the animal life they harbour. She is attracted to the more unusual shapes and textures of these plants and seeks to discover and represent the universal appeal of these amazing works of nature in her larger than life size drawings, hopefully encouraging others to take a closer look!

Ian Gibbins’ accompanying text begins as a response to the visual and scientific language of the illustrated plants, then imagines past or future journeys of discovery.
