Glenys Mann at the Hahndorf Academy

Glenys Mann's exhibition Waiting which is currently showing at the Academy is proving to be a thought provoking experience for our visitors, especially those who have their own personal stories to tell about family, loss and grief surrounding birth of babies from the late 1700's until now. The decisions that were made for young pregnant women, the wondering what might have been and in some cases the stories of love and happiness and proving the cynics wrong.

Make sure you get along to the Academy on Thursday May 14 at 6:30pm to hear Glenys speak about this most recent body of work and how it brought her out of a 3 year creative hiatus.

Light refreshments will be served.

Imagining the Past

Imagining the Past

A fabulous day was had by all who attended our inaugural 'Imagine the Past' event as part of ABOUT TIME: South Australia's History Festival. Visitors were treated to demonstrations of the traditional trades of the past including butter churning (pictured), wood turning, weaving, felting, dry stone walling, basketry, metal smithing, ceramics, and washing and many enjoyed having a go themselves.

If you missed out this year, you may be in luck as we hope to make this an annual event!
