Ed Douglas: Ideas and Images

Ed Douglas Ideas and Images

Exhibition Dates September 18 - October 14 2019

Ed Douglas is an Adelaide Hills artist who, as an art educator for 24 years with the SA School of Art, helped to influence the rise of artists engaged with photography in SA.  He studied visual art in San Francisco and received his Masters Degree there in 1969.  His photography is in a number of major collections in Australia, the US, and Europe.

He says that, 'Art, the contemporary and historic entity, and Life, aspects of being human, are the subject matter that most interests him.  Contemplating an idea and working it into an image takes up a significant part of his life.  Happiness, for him, is seeing a new image resolved and then having the clear space to move on with the evolution of the next idea and the next image.  Ultimately his objective is to communicate some personal views on art and the world we live in.'
